Standards: Health Science and Medical Technology
The Health Career Pathway is a three year medical career program. Sophomore year includes basic knowledge in the medical field. Continuing with Junior year study in medical careers and job shadowing and ending with internship opportunities for Senior year.

Principles of Biomedical Science ("d") [10th]

Human Body Systems ("d") [11th]

Students examine the interactions of human body systems as they explore identity, power, movement, protection, and homeostasis in the body.

Biomedical Innovations [12th]

Students design innovative solutions for the health challenges of the 21st century as they work through progressively challenging open-ended problems, addressing topics such as clinical medicine, physiology, biomedical engineering, and public health.

Health Academy Internship [12th]
Some pathway courses satisfy the University of California subject requirements in Laboratory science ("d"). The intent of the "a-g" subject requirements is to ensure that students have attained a body of general knowledge that will provide breadth and perspective to new, more advanced study. The curriculum includes units designed by Project Lead The Way.
The standards for the Patient Care pathway apply to occupations or functions involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental and physical well-being through the services offered by the medical and allied health professions. The standards specify the knowledge and skills needed by professional and technical personnel pursuing careers in this pathway.
